What happens to what you say.
The plain-language version, in the order it actually happens. The legal version exists too, and says the same thing in longer sentences.
- 1
You speak
The recording is written to your phone as an audio file. Nothing is streamed anywhere while you talk.
- 2
It becomes text
Transcription runs on your phone, so the audio never leaves the device. Some builds can also offer a cloud option in Settings. How transcription works.
- 3
The transcript is analysed
Only the text is sent for analysis, never the audio. A model reads it for parts, mentions and connections, and the result comes back to your journal. Your words are not used to train any model.
- 4
It stays yours
Export everything whenever you like — entries, parts, mentions, insights. Delete your account and your entries, parts, mentions and insights go with it; any uploaded audio still in storage is removed on a best-effort basis.
The short answers
No. Not the audio, not the transcript, not the analysis.

Yes — your device’s biometric unlock or passcode, one toggle in Settings.
You can journal anonymously. Signing in is what lets your journal survive a lost phone.
